I LIKE that ad, even if just for the confusion on hs face when she starts talking in Hebrew & that smirk at the end.

Thank you, Unkut and Dinamite, for the Yes commercial, and thank you, Wheely, for the caps. :-*

I just have to say, although I couldn't quite understand what the woman was saying, the commercial was hilarious. I mean, it looked like it was intended to be funny, and if so, it totally worked.

Most significantly, in my opinion, is BB's facial expression near the end. That little smile/eye twinkle? Awesome. It makes me think that he could do comedy for reals. There are moments, too, I think particularly in Season 1, where Michael gets a little wry, and it gives me the feeling that he'd do very well in a dry comedic role. I'd love to see him a movie with Stephen Fry - they could have a wry-off. ;D

That is a rather interesting interview, Mink. I wonder what else the interviewer 'investigated'? Or tried to investigate, anyway. Clearly it was all about detached scientific inquiry. ;)

Maichan, that's some amazing work on the website. :D

LMAO! Fabulous idea. Although I suspect Stephen would like more than just a "wry-off" once he clapped eyes on Wentworth. Just sayin'. ;)

And I completely concur regarding Went's comedy potential, DBN. I still think the fantastic, dry delivery of "It's prison, yo," from S1 was comedy gold. ;D

Methinks you might be correct. In fact, methinks you might be Stephen Fry.

Whoa! Mink = Stephen Fry would explain a lot. ;)

LMFAO!!! You give me waaaaay too much credit. I would gladly put up with the slight weight problems and 'unconventional' sexuality - amongst other things - in order to have a 10th of the spectacular intelligence and comic genius of Stephen Fry. I might even have more of a chance with Wentworth. ;)

What? I knew Stephen Fry was gay, but I didn't know about the unconventional bit!

Would that have anything to do with the 'unconventional' thing? Because, if so, you have seriously been holding out on us. Provide details. Now. And definitions of the more obscure items. Perhaps some little drawings as well. (Stick figure is fine; just make sure you label which one is BB and which one(s) is/are not.)

What? You mean that to be gay is completely normal and not remotely offensive and your good opinion of a person would not be changed by this 'revelation' about them in any way? Shurely shome mistake, madame!

Well, damn! We seem to have gotten rather carried away here and extremely Off Topic. Enough of this 'gay' talk. We need something to take our minds off that completely.

How about this?

No?

Okay then... this?

Still no?

I know. This guy is all man! No gay cooties here at all:

It should also be noted that creating this website was by no means the extent of her enormous contribution to this project, but it is a striking one, which is why I'm mentioning it particularly.

Major props to our very own "Mad Skillz" Maichan! Beautiful, professional, and funny as hell... watch out Mr. M, if my gate starts swinging the other direction, I'm coming for your woman! Oops, was that 'gay talk'?

I know. And isn't the idea of someone creating fake quotes shocking! I mean, who would do something so ridiculous and reprehensible as to completely make up something someone had never actually said, and call it a 'quote'? Went, I feel you, I really do. >:( (Although unfortunately not in 'that' way.)

What kind of low-life loser would make up ridiculous quotes from other people in order to further their own cause, toot their own horn, and peddle their own bullshit??? Are their really such lunatics on the Internet? I must know of this asylum so that I may avoid it at all costs!! ;)

Interesting interview technique: to embarrass the hell out of your subject. LOL.

I love it! I think it is a horribly clever tactic, and if he could get Went half-naked in the process, this man is my new hero!

As for this:

Quote:
"I've learned to transform myself into an object," he says. "My body is a body, like the camera is a camera"

I can certainly think of a way (or several) to use this particular object. As a matter of fact, I can objectify the hell out of this particular object.

RE: Miller's "freak out" over being touched
The movie Can't Buy Me Love starring young Patrick Dempsey was filmed during my senior year at the high school used. There had been a similar situation, which I'm sure happens on all sets, in which you were not to talk to (or approach, or touch, etc.) him during his time on or around the set.
I was there when the final confrontation scene was filmed and you could see that he was pretty intense and getting into the mood needed and coming out of the scene didn't necessarily mean that he was "ready to drop it." I would think the intensity of the fight scene would be the same.
He's working. As extras I'm sure they are [or most are] working, too, but that doesn't mean they have the same pressures to get the scene done and in the can. But that me. I'm generally irritable and crabby at work in general.

Quote:
That extra also makes a very good point about the supposed "worst of the worst" vibe never really translating to the screen. I tend to think that Fox/the producers just wimped out on that one due to nervousness about audience reaction.

Maybe that combined with "some were the most broke-ass, needy, bumming mothers I've ever known. Again, no different than any other place." We will never know.

Quote:
Having obscenities screamed at you by someone who has been told not to approach you, and whom you don't know? Lovely. What a thing to have to tolerate.

Take out the "been told not to approach you" and it's a lot like working retail, eh?

Quote:
I mean, the talents of Natalie Portman, Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor, et al, couldn't raise the level of the new Star Wars movies because they were hampered by the fact that George Lucas can't write OR direct.

As Harrison Ford [well known -and definition of- curmudgeon] reminded him from time to time. LOL Alas, he really was the only one to make it out of the first series, no?

Quote:
I will be the first in line to accept OLP's ruler-wielding,bottom spanking when it occurs.

apparently I am second in line. And Niknak, can I bring my own ruler? Or whip! Whichever.

A ruler? A whip? Have you seen those hands?!?

Quote:
And after the spanking, the oral sex!

Wentworth: Well, I could stay a bit longer... *

Quote:
About the report from that PB extra: I realize that Went's an introvert, but I have to disagree with the "painfully" shy label. He wouldn't be an actor at all if that was the case.

I disagree. I think actors/performers are able to, well, act and perform as they "become" another person/personality and are able to have an outlet to express themselves. Being able to read lines in character, sing, dance, or speak in public with a specific topic s/he is passionate about is different from one-on-one, more personal, contact. [And talking about the weather and/or other "filler" topics is just awkward when you or uyou both/all know that it is just filler and meaningless.]

I'd use Bob Dylan as an example as he is known to mumble and not look people in the eye when speaking with them, but, unfortunately he performs the same way, too. [image]

Quote:
Quote:I guess we can all speculate on what we think the "fake interviews" in question might be; I know I have my theories.
--
As do I. *dons tinfoil hat*

And fantasies. so, sue me...

Quote:
Anyway, good to know Went is - as we'd all suspected - "perfect" from the POV of a disinterested third party. ;)

"Disinterested third party"?!? Wha'?! Oh, wait... Heh, heh. heh.
I so would love to see him on Letterman.

Quote:
And I completely concur regarding Went's comedy potential, DBN.

It was there when he was in Popular. ... And dare I say in Dinotopia and Joan of Arcadia, too. Of course, there was also the potential to be deliciously completely evil [in all three above of his roles].
